Happy 34 months old!

Dear Little Bobina,
You turned 34 months old yesterday, and yes in only two more months you will be 3! Where does time go? We have had a ton of snow in the past couple weeks, but today it is raining and I wanted so badly to take you outside on the sled. Today is Christmas Eve and I type this while you are asleep on the coach. You have been sick the past couple weeks and this stubborn little sick bug just won't go away. You were so generous to give it to me and now today is my turn to be grumpy and unpredictable, we can also blame the PMS for this! We'll have that talk someday down the road!

You have been very trying lately. I can't decide if it's from being sick or because you will be turning 3 soon. Either way, I do have my days where I would like to climb into a hole and wait for you to be done with your whining and crying. I know this is something you need to go through and I'm having to really learn about my patients. I hope that you will have more patients than me.
You are completely potty trained now! You were going through some problems the past couple weeks, not sure what your deal was, but you just decided to pee your pants whenever possible...even if you were standing in the bathroom! Some suggested maybe you had a urinary tract infection and the weird thing is that after giving you cranberry juice....you have stopped! I'm just glad that your back on track. I was getting really tired of doing laundry EVERY NIGHT!
You're learning a lot at school. You have had several different moms come in and talk about where they are from, since you do go to such a diverse school. It is 2008 you know, we are all about diversity! We really enjoy Whitney Bloomfield and all the teachers there, it's a great place! I still miss seeing your face through out the day!
So we went and saw Santa at the mall two weeks ago and stood in line for two hours! You did great! You walked up proudly and jumped on his lap without any fear, shocked mommy and daddy for sure! You told him you want "muffins" for Christmas, and he gave a big smile. I'm sure he will make that delivery! We also went on the Polar Express (AKA: Star Clipper Dinner Train) and had hot coco and cookies while listening to a story and music. You really enjoy watching the video clips.

Christmas is tomorrow and I hope it brings a smile to your face, you are my little angle!
I love you!
Love,

Mommy

It's the Polar Express!

We had our big adventure on the Polar Express last night. AKA: THe Star Clipper Train out of Walled Lake. THe train will be moving to Traverse City after the new year and we thought it would be fun to take our Little Bobina on the train for an evening of fun. She had a nice time and only took a couple sips of her hot coco...hmmm. It definitly felt like we were going to the North Pole, it was like %15 below last night....SO COLD! Painfully cold! We had a great time and once again the request was MUFFINS! Wow Santa, you have your work cut out for you!

All I want for Christmas is my.......

It's been a trying week with all the things going on with the auto loan and the Southern Republicans that don't deserve their titles. Don't even get me started......does a Island exist where we can throw these guys onto? Even with this bad news this week, we have had some great news in our home. The man of our home is not finished with his masters and managed to score all A's in the past five years.....yes I married a very smart man....just look at who he married!

Anyway I have far more better things to write about than stupid ignorant politicians right now, and one of them being that we took our little Bobina to see Santa today and wow was it so cute! After waiting in line for over two hours...yes folks two hours....(good thing it's the mall and there were a lot of people, I love people watching, yes sick I know) we really got a taste for what our "almost" three year old wants badly for Christmas. Yes, I know...what could a three year old know about "wanting" something for Christmas. Well I'm here to tell you that she knows what she wants and what she wants are MUFFINS! I will be off to Hiller's on Christmas eve in hopes that they will have her favorite muffins. I think she got "Santa" shy and couldn't think of anything and just blurted out MUFFINS! Whatever the case she is so cute and really enjoyed her 30 second visit with him. When we got home she sang "Jingle Bells" and "Frosty the Snowman" and pretended to be Santa while making myself and her daddy sit on her lap (with out crushing her) to tell her that we also want MUFFINS!

It was a great day!

Happy 33rd months!

Dear Little Bobina,
As the snow flakes fall, you stand staring at them asking, "mommy, can I eat them?" It's a new world for you right now. You recently graduated from the Toddler room at school and have moved into the next room with the "BIG" kids! It's definitely been a transition for you, but you are doing great considering. There have been a lot of new changes in the past month and weeks. You have a new beautiful cousin, you will be meeting her on Thanksgiving. You've had a bit of a cold so you had to stay home when I wanted to take you. I know you can't wait to hold her, I will be sure to get pictures.
There is a lot of things currently going on in the world that make me pray every night. Although the world will never be a perfect place, I hope that when you get older it's a place where you feel safe and fear is very limited. Daddy will be done with his Masters Degree in a couple weeks and I think that's going to be a great thing for you and I since he has been buried in his books and computer.
You love to use the word "actually" and it's funny because now I realize how much I "actually" say this word! You are so cute!

You have had some moments that you want to let Mommy and Daddy know who's in charge, but sorry honey...I don't want to end up on the "Super Nanny." You have been teaching me how to be patient and it's not always easy, but I wasn't born with this gift...hopefully you have been! You are so smart, counting your numbers and using big words. You have a huge imagination and when I sit back and watch you, I see myself in you....your favorite game right now is the "polar express." You take everything you can find and place it on the fireplace step and then disappear for a couple hours. Each day is something new and I can only hope that you enjoy each step that you take. When you come home and start talking about North America it makes me smile from ear to ear. The interest in Thomas the Train has been extreme and you like say "sponge Bob" I think because this is your daddy and well.....they kinda look alike! JK
The funny thing is waking up in the morning and hearing you call daddy a "rag a muffin." :-) You are in a big girl bed (kind of), with the front railing off your crib, but I had to go purchase one of those bed rails because you were falling out of your bed every night. I finally broke when after 4 weeks of being woken up, I had enough. Now you are sound asleep and enjoying your bed once again.
Our next big mission is to say goodbye to the pacifier. You are having a really hard time with this, but it's what you know and you'll be fine....well all be fine!
Thanksgiving is in a few days, let's be thankful for all that we have and all that you are!
I Love you!
Love,
Mommy
Your new baby cousin....o how sweet!

Hole in the World

As I sit at the stop light watching traffic go by; the one thing I find myself saying is, "well, these people all still have jobs...it can't be that bad!" Yes folks, I'm trying to find the positive in the traffic driving by me at the light....what does that tell you!
Every time I turn on the news or read the paper, it's all about job loss and the horrible economy. Yes folks, it has gotten bad, but the one thing that scares me is the fear that the media is instilling in every single American...maybe even Europeans for that matter!
And what does fear do to us? Let's see....STRESS, ANXIETY,PANIC,DEPRESSION,SADNESS,OVER EATING...etc, etc, etc. The one good thing is that the Pharmaceutical companies must being doing very well, they have a drug for it all!

If we let fear take over than we will bury ourselves in a hole and it will be very difficult to come out. The one thing I know is that I have some great things going on in my life and that's what I will focus on to get me through these tough times. Forget the papers and TV...let's jump on our web cams and stare at each other! :-)

Change has arrived!

History was definitely made and the one thing I will remember most is taking our little Bobina to the polls with me! She behaved so well and even got a sticker! Our new President of the United States is Barack Obama...it's going to be an interesting four years!

Happy 32 Month Old!

Dear Bobina,
Fall has a tendency to make me feel the change that happens in my life. There has definitely been change and each day is a new journey. You turned 32 months old this month and are starting to look like a "little girl" to me now. You are fully potty trained and said goodbye to your toddler room at school on Halloween and will now be entering the "BIG kids" class on Monday. I'm scared they will corrupt your mind and teach you dirty words.....it's happens in pre-school now....way before Kindergarten! You used the word "actually" this evening...maybe you will be too smart for those 4 year olds!

I know I write this A LOT, but I really can't believe how fast time goes with a child. It must be because they grow so fast and it's hard to keep up with the every day changes. It's life and we need to embrace growth, yet at the same time it makes you feel old and everyone around you...sometimes makes me sad.

Halloween was fun last night, she wore the same costume as last year (dogie), but who cares! You have really been into all the decorations, if people have those hideous blow up things in their yard, they get the biggest A from our child! The witch down the street had become your favorite, until last night when we took a stroll down there to touch her and say hello, then it became the "I want to go home cry." So much for touching the witch; she was a bit scary, but at least she was wearing shoes!

You are really talking and your big thing right now is "NO MOMMY!" Well let me tell you, that gets old real quick....duck tape please! JK-really! You love to help out and do everything yourself. Your imagination is full of wonderful thoughts. Your pumpkin guy got a time out this morning for "hitting himself" and not "listening"...wow that sounds familiar. We had a great party in the living room the other evening, with uncooked penne and everything! Yet we sat on soft pillows from the coach and the hostess (you of course) was fabulous!

As a mother to her child, I could write all night about all the fun and adoring adventures each and everyday, but for now just know that my love for you is bigger than the universe!

Love,

Mommy

November 5th is going to be the best day ever!

It's so hard to stay focused on my life right now when all I can do to stay sane is run and hide from the TV, radio and EVERYONE TALKING! This November 4th (now the locals have caught on and their ads just suck) is supposed to be one of the biggest election days in history. Why is this any different than any other election? Is it because our economy is in the pits, or at least the media would like you to believe this. They have done a great job of scaring the crab out of every American, rich or poor or small or tall, which then leads to people shoving their money under their mattresses and hiding from Wal-Mart and the malls!
I find it really hard to believe that this is going to be the most important elections in history. Why you ask? Well, when I turn on the TV and hear them ridiculing Sarah Palin for how much money has been spent on her clothes, I have to run outside our front door and scream at the top of my lungs. Then someone calls the cops for domestic abuse and when the cop shows up at our door to see what is wrong I say, "well officer, you tell me what's wrong with our country when their is just no faith in our political system!" He hands me a tissue and says, "good luck with that one Miss."
I will be voting on November 4th, but can I tell you that when I wake up on November 5th....the birds will be chirping and the sun will be shining....not for the winner, but for the American people who will be glad to have this campaign over with! Can I get a "GOD BLESS AMERICA" on that one!

Just want to scream!

I'm starting to wonder what planet I live on? Ok, so this is one of the most important elections of our time, but it's hard to know that when you don't hear any solutions being brought to the table. At this point, I don't believe either candidate could get the job done. The United State of America is in a sad state of mind right now and if we can't come together to fix this HUGE problem than will it really won't matter who is President? At this point, and there is less than 30 days until the election, I don't want to read another thing about either candidate or turn on the television to hear the ridicules comments on either candidate. At this point, I will move forward with a positive attitude that "we" American citizens can come together and let the corporations and politicians know that they can and will be held accountable for their actions, or lack there of, if you prefer. It's time to move forward and pull together....it's going to take every single one of use to help undue this mess!

Happy 31 Month Birthday!

Dear Little Bobina,
You turned 31 months old today, a bit over 2 1/2! In the past couple weeks you have REALLY come into your own. You are doing great with the potty training and wearing big girl undies now....just loving the mermaid ones!

You have learned your shapes and colors in the past couple weeks and really recognize what is what. The daycare that you go too is great! You really enjoy all the things you learn and seem to be the "leader" in your class, you are becoming one of the "older" kids now. Your imagination is growing by leaps and bounds, you really have fun with anything and I love watching you pretend that your eating things. Most kids have to be told one million times not to do something or to do something, but not you! You get it the first time, so smart!

I hope that someday you will forgive me for my lack of patience, it's something that I try to work on. I do check in with myself most times, but sometimes I get overwhelmed and need to do a check and balance. It's something that I hope to teach you early on, makes you a happier person when you don't sweat the small stuff.

You will have a new cousin in about a month or so. We talk about the new baby, and I know you will be a great cousin to her.

The songs that you sing just melt my heart, really enjoy the ones about your friends, "1, 2, 3 all my friends are here with me. You sing "BAH bah black sheep and it's SO cute!

I enjoy you everyday! Keep learning and be the best person you can be!

I love you!
Love,
Mommy

The great things in life....

It's official, our little Bobina is now a potty queen! I will officially welcome her into the club tomorrow with a certificate, parade and a brand new Lexus G5 car! It's been an up and down thing for the past couple weeks and I think after today, we have finally crossed that line! After watching her yesterday on the potty at school, it hit me....we are stopping at K-mart on the way home and buying you a potty! Yes honey, mommy is a little slow.... We stood there in the baby isle looking at potties (never knew they had so many) and there is was, the "PRINCESS POTTY!" We love it, well take it and yes she will POOP in it!

Up at 7:00 am this morning and the first thing she wants to do is try out her new "potty." Well folks....from 7-10 am she went a total of FIVE times...yes FIVE times. I wondered why she was drinking so much water, just so she could watch it come out! Then at about 9:30, the biggest poop I have ever seen came out of her........not sure which is worse, changing her diaper of cleaning the potty?

One accident today, not bad for her first "full" day. I'm definitely the proudest mommy today. Now, does anyone know where the bathroom is in Costco?

Feels like yesterday...

It's been seven years and it feels like yesterday. We as a country, (those who truly care about this country) remember exactly where they were seven years ago at 8:26 am on September 11th 2001. When I sat down to bow my head this morning, I remembered each and every feeling that I had seven years ago to the date. What sadness and anger we American's were feeling. I felt for once that the hatred amongst each other had stopped for a short time. I felt that this morning for a brief second when I glanced over at a woman driving in her mini van. I'm not sure what it was, but the expression on her face reminded me of every face that I looked at on that day. We must remember how to come together and be with each other, not against each other.

Let us pray for all the families and soldiers who have lived the American dream.

Happy 30 Months!

Dearest Little Bobina,

You turned 30 months yestarday (started to write last weekend)! It's hard to imagine that in just 6 months you will be 3 years old! We spent the day in St. Joe at your cousin Grace's house on your 30 month birthday! We had a great time, played in the water, built sand castles and went for ice cream! You are very well behaved and have the most beautiful smile! When you giggle it makes my heart melt! When I sit back and watch you, it's like soaking in a beautiful sunset, only better because you are so fun to watch!

You like to ask a lot of questions right now. The most current one is, "who bought this for me?" You ask this for everything that comes your way, shoes, ice cream, shirts, pants, stuffed animals...anything that you think might be yours. It's very cute, but I wonder where you got that from? Are you learning to identify with things or are you wondering if we are rich? Well, hopefully by the time you hit college we are rich and we are money bags! :-)

The water is your best friend! You have a great time in the water! I think next summer you will have a better idea of how to swim! Maybe you will teach your "cousin to be" how to enjoy it too!

So far you have gone on the potty twice! Two little poos...but nothing else and you don't really have any interest after you do it. The marsh mellows don't seem to be doing it. Your back teeth are coming in and you are doing very well!

You have taken a liking to stuffed animals and babies. You are so loving and gentle. And the Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo have caught your attention, guess we are past Ratatouille?

You don't watch a lot of television, thank goodness!

You really seem to enjoy your school. The mornings are a bit tough, for the both of us. I don't want to drop you off and you don't want me to leave, but when I pick you up..that's a different story! You know your numbers and colors and can do some of the alphabet, so smart! Mario, across the street (Nanoo) has been teaching you how to count in Maltese and you have really picked that up. So far you are counting to ten! Just amazes me at how smart you are!

How quick you have learned to dress yourself, it's a comical thing sometimes to watch! We have our little tunnels and big tunnel and you can do it all by yourself! You have that determination that I see in myself, this will help to get you through life!

Be who you want to be and don't care what other's think....except for your mommy and daddy!

I love you!

Love,

Mommy

P.S.-You will have a new cousin in a couple months, we will call her Izzy for right now until it is confirmed.

Making History....no not the Olympics!

The Olympics are a big thing, yes they are, but today in our home something else was even BIGGER! Something that beats Michael Phelps winning 8 gold medals, and breaking world records, something that I have been waiting for, and yes people it has happened...are you ready for this one? Our little Bobina has done her second poop in the potty! This time was special, she felt the bowl movements and told me! We were sitting in the rocking chair reading a book when she started tooting and then it happened, with a straight look into my eyes, "mommy, I have to go poop!" At first, I was thinking that because she saw daddy go into the bathroom she just wanted to go in, but a wave hit me...NEVER MESS AROUND WHEN SHE SAYS SHE HAS TO GO! This is a moment I have been waiting for! So off she went, she held on tight to the handles of her little seat and there it was, a nice little poop in the potty. In our house the gold metal is a nice fluffy MARSHMALLOW and wow did she enjoy it! Being the proud parent of a toddler in potty training, it made me want to cry! When she walked up to me earlier in the day and said, "mommy, change my poppy," I knew this was the day! Let us pray for tomorrow!

Making History...everyday

It's August 15th 2008 and the Beijing Olympics have been on for one week. We have watched gymnastics, swimming, and diving. My favorite has been the diving! The big one has been Michael Phelps breaking world records and as of right now he has 7, going for 9. They say he is one of the best Olympians ever!

Little Bobina will be 30 months old next Saturday....where does time go? She has enjoyed watching the swimming and diving with me. Mimicking the movements, just like I did when I was little. Standing really tall with her arms together....reach...reach...reach and down, what a fabulous pretend dive! I give her a 10!

Maybe an Olympian some day?

Maybe we should bitch about this today....

So unfortunately I'm one of those people who waits until I have 5 miles left before I run out of gas to get my ass to the gas station (just ask my mom-it seems to happen every time she is with me). I hated getting gas before and now I REALLY hate it! So here's my story, problem and solution!

What really irks me is that I pulled into a gas station last week by my work and the sign said $4.25....what the corn hole! gas is BLEEPING $4.25!!! So I go to pump and I look down at the price on the pump and it say $4.30!!! WHAT! It says on the sign $4.25....o yes...look a little closer and you will See it says if you have CASH, yes people, CASH then it's $4.25. Wait just one cornhollio minute, you mean to tell me that gas prices are sky rocketing into Pluto and your going to make me pay more because I don't have CASH! Why am I being held to this degree at the gas pump? How can our Attorney General let this happen! When I have a free second I will be writing a letter to let him know that this is injustice!

So I pump the gas and drive away with a very scorn look on my face and the middle finger at the CASH sign! See if I ever go there again! So I did it again this week and that's it! I called my hubby and said "listen, how can they get away with this"? "Are they relatives of Bush or something?" I'm still really steamed about this and I will attempt to hold a black out WEEK or MONTH even if I have too, to get people not to buy gas or ANYTHING from gas stations that are doing this. It's not right to make people who don't carry cash pay more. I have enough on my plate everyday that I don't want to have to worry about going to the bank to pull cash. I love my debit card and will not cheat on it, we get along great!

So join me in the effort to 1.) send a letter to our Attorney General to do something about this and 2.) pick a week to BAN these gas stations that are doing this, it's just not right!

Our voices need to be heard, and if it's by action, than action will be taken!

Back in tack

We have been back from Cali for a couple of weeks now and I think I'm fully recovered....or at least somewhat recovered! We are almost done with the bathroom, but a few minor mishaps have set us back, a broken mirror, cracked tile and rough paint job.....o well!
It's been a busy summer so far, lots to do and lots to think about. Here's some pics of little Bobina in the backyard...isn't she lovely!

Can't close my mouth!!!

Over the hills and thru the mountains, we have made it to Lake Tahoe. After a brief day at Yosemite and a night at Mono Lake we jumped in the car and headed to Lake Tahoe. This adventure has been unbelievable...just speechless. The pictures don't do justice!
