Socializing Hangover

Too many parties and gatherings have led me to a socializing hangover! I think I will stay in bed for the next couple weeks to recover, this time of year is exhausting!

What you hope to see everyday!

So I'm driving to work one morning eating a breakfast bar, and while stopped at a light and I look over-WHILE I'M STILL CHEWING and this guy in the car next to me is picking his nose! I wanted to puke! We may all be caught picking our noses at one time or another, but hopefully the person catching up in the act is not EATING!

To flu or not to flu

It's been in the media constantly, everyone is talking about it and I'm afraid to voice what I think. To get a flu shot or not to get a flu shot......kids and all! OK, and I can't even get started about the swine flu......even though I know someone today that says they were diagnosed. What the @$(#$)(.

We had our little Bobina get a flu shot her first year, and well....she came down with the flu and got REALLY sick....really sick. I remember getting one in college and that next day I was SOOO sick. Last year I did not get our little Bobina a flu shot and she didn't come down with the flu...so what am I to think. I sometimes feel that its the pharmaceutical companies pushing it and having the doctors push it and now we have two kinds of flu's.....what is going on? Don't get me wrong, I worry about my child and family getting sick, but you can catch it even with a shot....so what are we to do? How about making this country a better place so that people are not so stressed out that their bodies can't hold up....how about providing the best kind of foods so that we can pump up our bodies with the healthiest stuff. Please feel free to let me know how you feel, I'm just not sure what to think.

Little Duckie

October has arrived! Our little Bobina has settled into her new class at school with Ms. Pat, this morning she told me that she didn't want to wave at the window. This is a new step this week, I want her to be strong and I want to be strong!
We went over the alphabet yesterday and she did great, really staying focused and doing a great job at spelling her name!
We had our first swim class on Saturday, can I just say COLD POOL!! O yes, I'm not kidding! At first I wanted to run out crying like the kid next to us. Those kids aren't crying because they are scared of the water, it's so damn cold....that's why their crying, it made me want to cry! Our little one did great in the water, a little clingy to mommy, but she did great listening to the teacher and was really excited!
Another fall is settling in and we are getting ready to hibernate, better start gathering the acorns!

See you in another 9 1/2 months

It's the last weekend of summer and the blue sky is shining bright. This summer is one that will go down in history; mother nature was jobless and there wasn't any stimulus money to help her out of the funk....o well at least I was tan for one week!

On a serious note, our hearts are still healing from the lost of our Montana. We do miss him so much and you can feel his absence when you walk through the door, the healing process will take time.

Our little Bobina has become a great swimmer this summer, at the age of 3 1/2 she decided that she enjoyed putting her face under the water and trying to swim. This was noticed on our first boating trip to Orchard Lake. The lake has a great spot to park your boat and swim, only up to little Bobina's waist, we loved it and it was so much fun watching her....what a great memory!

The summer also consisted of cleaning out the toxic acquaintances in my life, realizing that I will make the decision to say no, back off! When you close one or two doors, another opens.....connecting with old friends and meeting new friends.

We had several trips to the water park this summer with some other children/parents from the school, how fun to watch the smiles on their faces.

Home projects have begun, just put in a new floor...took out the old carpet, turned out really nice, still a couple more things to go.

Little Bobina has a new teacher this year, I have had a lot of mixed feelings about this, just want to make sure that they have her in their best interest, because I certainly do. My eyes and ears will be peeled!

As we say goodbye to the summer of 09, we say thank you for letting us grow, it's never been easy, but as we learn to say goodbyes to things, it also allows us to grow and become more human and in touch with the every day life.

School time is here...

Labor Day is right around the corner and the kids will all be going back to school next week.  Our Little Bobina will have a new teacher this year at her day care....yes it's day care, but it's a Pre-School where they have a Montessori program....with a brand new playground!  The kids got to enjoy their new playground yestarday, they were so excited.  Our little one has learned to climb up the monkey bars...with me holding my breathe!  O yes, and the red tire swing....the RED tire swing.....as I hear "mommy, the tire swing is you're favorite color....RED."
Bobina has learned how to write her name this summer, still learning the letter "A", but she is doing a great job. I'm hoping that she will become a leader in her new class and help to teach the others.  Let the school year begin!

Falling upon us...

The sun and air are telling me that fall is here!  It's been a tough summer and part of me is ready for fall, throw on the jeans and curl up to a good movie on a cold fall day......whoops that was life before a child.  Ok, so I step into the current times and it will be a busy fall, we will either have swimming lessons or a dance class for little Bobina and I will be heading back to Yoga class on a regular schedule....and did I mention that raking the leaves will be a family affair?
I'm glad to be putting this summer behind us, we had some good times....Little Bobina's first camp out in the back yard (the skunk sent us running into the house at 3 am), boating, a trip to St. Joe's to visit family, baseball game (August 29th) and swimming (learning to put  our face in the water).
With the loss of Montana, it's been challenging to enjoy this summer, we miss him so much!  We think of him everyday and each move reminds me of him, what habits we have and don't even relize.
We will be focusing on some home improvment jobs over the next couple months, hopefully all will go well.

The best of summer....

1. Flowers blooming
2. Fresh Cut Grass
3. Charchol BBQ-forget the gas....lifes too easy!
4. Sound and smell of the sprinklers going (the old fashion ones-hooked to the hose)
5. Up early for a sun on the water & relaxing to watch the sun go down.

Being in the present...

It's so hard to stay in the present moment, to just sit back and be in that space that can take you away from it all. How can we when life is so fast paced and the world is spinning at a million miles per hour on it's axis! How can we just sit and enjoy each precious moment when all we hear is about job loss, foreclosure and how the world is coming to an end......how can we??? Stop for a moment when you see a child and remember what it was like to not have all these worries. Do you remember what it was like to just sit and eat gummy worms wishing the rain would stop so you could swim in the pool? Being in the present moment can change your world!
