Finding peace in loss.
First, let me start out by saying that there is good news out there right now, we are getting one more minute of sun light a day! I heard that on the radio this week and almost wet myself! I definitely suffer from SAD (season affective disorder)! It's quit obvious when you find me laying on the coach while the sun beats in through the window, crying out "serotonin, serotonin!"
But on to the serious part of this blog.....
This winter has been a winter of loss. At the institution where I reside during the day, I do and have gotten to work with some really great people. Unfortunately loss does come and I have had to say goodbye to a couple of those nice people. In the past week we have also had to say goodbye to a great actor, Heath Ledger, with such a tragic death and Ella's first "school teacher," Peggy, who lost her battle with cancer. It's been a sad week, but I take the admirable things that I remember of these people and add them into my "special memories" box.

This explains it all!
It's a chilly winter day in Michigan and I'm sitting at the Costco gas station being very observant. As I sit there waiting for my husband to finish pumping the gas, I notice this truck drive by (home depot truck) with these LARGE words on the side that say, "RENT ME BY THE HOUR." Hmmmm......

Goodnight MO!
In our home, we have a ritual every night. It's bath and bedtime between 7:00 & 7:30 pm. You would think we run a military here, but I do believe in structure and think it's very important. This may not be as important for Ella as it is for me, (call me on an off day and you will find out why). Each night right before bed, Ella says goodnight to her daddy and then HAS to say goodnight to her best friend, Moogs! She will not go to bed unless she gets to say goodnight to him! I think it's the only thing that makes her sleep peacefully! Babies best friend!

cars & politics
All eyes are on Michigan right now. Between the auto show and the Primary, it's all about Michigan! What do the two have in common? Both are under the bright lights, being talked about at the water cooler and hoping to win the people's vote! Wow is this going to be an interesting race.....

AHHHHH HELP!
You don't know what gross is until this happens to you! Note to reader, this is a TRUE story!
"Mommy...up, up!"
"What sweetie, you want me to pick you up?" (nothing abnormal about that)
"Yes."
As mommy picks her up, she felt something just didn't seem right.
With her favorite pacifier in mouth and mommy trying to figure out what's for dinner it happened without any warning at all. This SUDDEN PROJECTILE OF BARF!!!! HOLY #*&%! WHAT THE #$*& IS THIS? Nothing new to mommy, but she was use to it coming out of her mouth and not all over the front of her!
As mommy steps into "non-panic" mode she sets this spewing child into the sink, helping to point her face down into the sink! Don't panic!! Don't panic the mommy says to herself; o wait she was saying it out loud!
As she stood there looking at her poor child sitting in the sink with barf all over her, she then realized that she was wearing this same barf on the front of her and also standing in it! The only next best thing to do was to strip down in the kitchen and head for the tub......ahhh how water is GOD!

Revolation? Or just exhaustion...
Our little Bobina will be two next month and someone pinch me because where the hell did the past two years go? OK, so the first year, I was a "BIT" sleep deprived, or was it hibernation....GRR? Then the second year, I was......was.....was.....totally undertaken by the corporate world in which I live in on a daily basis, but so help me, I tried to stay grounded and fight that battle! It's not wonder there is this audacious need for a trip to the most remote place on earth where I can sit on a nice beach, swim in the crystal clear water and read all day...while getting a nice golden tan! I may end up having to settle for the tanning salon down the road....don't worry I will go for the spray on since it shows less risk of "cancer" than the claustrophobic coffins! With my new goals in mind and slowly finding themselves to paper, I have reeled myself back into "my" world and have a major (yes, I said MAJOR) new goal that I have been working on! Wondering what it is? Here you go; don't become so emotionally attached to the things that will neglect you and kick you to the curb....it's just NOT WORTH IT! So with that in mind, I will lift my breast's high (maybe they will look bigger) and kiss the ground, because I'm finally back where I need to be!

Resolution? How about GOALS?
It is time to wipe the slate clean and start fresh for 08! To do this you will need the following ingredients:
A PIECE OF PAPER
A GREAT WRITING UTENSIL (PREFERABLY A PEN OR #2 PENCIL)
TIME
PERSEVERANCE
YOUR PREVIOUS "GOALS" OR NEW "GOALS"-MAKE NOTE OF THE WORD "GOALS"
A QUIET PLACE AWAY FROM EVERY DISTRACTION
When you sit down to write your "goals" think of all the things that you have yearned to do over your life and haven't or things that you "must do" and write it down! These are not resolutions! I believe that resolutions are things that you set yourself up to fail at, while goals can be something you look forward to in life.
What is my first "goal" of the year? To gather all the necessary ingredients!
